Creating a dynamic table To create a dynamic table that shrinks or grows to accommodate dynamic content you first design the table normally, adding placeholder text and cell formatting as desired. This section assumes you've already prepared your page for dynamic content. If not, follow the steps given in Creating simple dynamic text and graphics. To bind a table to dynamic content, do the following: 1 Select the contents of the first row you want replaced with dynamic content. Select the content source field whose content you want to replace the placeholder text in the table. 2 Select the entire table or any cell in the table, and then click the Binding Details tab in the Dynamic Link palette. 3 Select the Replace Rows option. 4 Select the appropriate content source from the Content Source pop-up menu. 5 Select an option for the records you want displayed in the table: ![]() A table bound to dynamic content. A. The highlighted first row indicates the text there is a placeholder bound to a field in the content source. B. The highlight border indicates that the entire table is a dynamic table that will be replaced when viewers see the page live.
During preview or when the page is viewed online, dynamic content replaces the information in the bound placeholder row. Any additional rows will be created as necessary. Using Dynamic Link > Adding dynamic content to pages > Creating a dynamic table |
